Trying to define
I tried defining what was in the top of my mind and you can always give yours.
The invention of the century is "capability to produce speed", in communication, in everything. Communication was there even in 5000 BC, at a fraction of today's speed.

yea speed has the future in shock for us, I don't know how far we our mind can adapt to the changes that is happening around us !!
Infact speed is a very relative term and the depends of the speed at which the society moves around us and we are in an ear
I know what you meant that communication was faster compared to 5000 BC.Nothing travels faster than the thought and mind :).I never thought in those lines
By communication i meant information dissipation or disemination.Your comment has made me to revist the invention !!

the proverb goes to say that what you see with eyes may be deceptive and didn't comment what you see in the eyes..was just try to make up with the semanitcs!!.
Obvious we see with the eyes into the eyes!!!
There are certain cues which you can get from people and although allan pease vouches for body language.. i always look out for the eye language and it generally doesn't hide the truth..
