Underdogs : Doors of Uncertainity !!!
Last saturday must have flunked the egos of the czeck, after they flaunted too much, after upgrading themselves to the second rank in the FIFA rankings.Everbody expected czeck to be the darkhorse for Worlcup 2006, they had the taste of their own medicine given to them.The African nation, after the second minute goal were pumped up, to snatch the three points from the czech.It could have been worse, had the still naive Ghanian's converted the other opportunites. I suddenly found myself supporting the Ghanian's, when infact wanted the czeck to win that evening after witnessing their flairful display against USA in the previous encounter.
I asked myself this question why do people want the underdogs to win except when our team is playing.When we are objective and unattached to any particular team,we always want the underdog to win.Be it Sports or Politics or Goliath Story, We inherently want the weak link to survive the scar.Nothing elates me like Australia seeking the dust against Bangladesh.I never want Bangladesh to win against India inspite of India's poor show.
Have we learnt something here.We are fair and want the weak to flourish, as long as the selfish gene does not show its ugly face!!.We seek equality when we remove divisions and barriers of identify.Have i arrrived at something to live life ?. This question has provoked a dozen of thoughts and would seek to answer them in the ensuing posts!!!
